Default Which specific craft do you prefer?
I am starting this new thread, just to get an idea of the 'popularity' of different craft forms. So...
1. Which specific craft form do you prefer?
2. Do you know more than one craft?
3. How did you learn? Through elders or on your own?

As for me, I generally spend my time on Origami. I am still trying to become proficient at it. I learnt it on my own so that I could teach my nieces and it is certainly one of the cheapest 'toys' going around! I am also into scrapbooking though it's more off and on. And from this forum, I am trying to pick up card making. I have someideas of combining card making with origami and my digital photography. Let's see.
Please share your experiences too.

I spent many years Patchwork & Quilting, which I still love, but have little time to indulge.

I dabbled in card making which quickly turned into scrapping and other paper related crafts.

1. I prefer papercrafts, actual scrapbooking and digital scrapbooking. In all these, I use varied add-ons, like beads, foam, string, glitter, wire, etc.
2. I know how to work with clay, plaster and wire. I also know some origami. When it comes to art, the medium I am most familiar with is oil pastels though I also know how to paint.
3. I went to a few art classes back when I was a kid but I only got into arts and crafts long after those classes were over. Except from the basic painting classes I had as a child, I learned everything else on my own.

I prefer aromatherapy candles. I cut 1 feet and 1 and half feet tall bamboos wherein you can just place your melted wax in it. You can also add fragrances with the wax like caramel, grapefruit, or fragrance you can find.

I prefer to crochet but I do know other crafts such as soap making, scrap booking and candle making. I learned crocheting from my grandmother but the others I learned through research, trial and error and local craft stores.

I've tried various things over the years, but I think scrapbooking will come out on top as my favorite. I've done sewing and quilting... counted cross-stitch, ceramics... but I always come back to scrapbooking.

I prefer all types of needlecrafts: embroidery, tapestry work, cross stitch. Counted cross stitch is probably the one that I spent most of my crafting time on. I even design my own samplers and pictures as well. I also crochet and do beadwork. I've never really gotten into scrapbooking.

I adore cross-stitch - but I do spend a lot of time crocheting in front of the TV - I make small coloured squares which I sew together and then donate the resulting blanket to the local animal shelter.

It's cross-stitching for me! I just love completing those eye-catching designs and hanging them on my walls! I'll also try my hand on beadworking, card-making and scrapbooking (hopefully by this year!).
